⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently had my Scirocco gearbox serviced at Slaters Garage Ltd and honestly couldn’t be happier with the service.My wife dropped the car off as it’s closer to her work, and the team were more than accommodating. We weren’t able to collect the car until after closing time, but they kindly left the keys in the key safe for us with no issues at all.When we opened the key safe, we were welcomed with our keys and a bar of Dairy Milk chocolate – such a simple but genuinely thoughtful touch that really stood out.Brilliant service, friendly and helpful staff, and great communication throughout. You can tell they care about their customers.We’ll definitely be using them again – in fact, my wife’s car is already booked in for a few weeks’ time.Highly recommend 👌

Had an issue with my gear box (DSG) not shifting properly and occasionally not selecting D,N,P,R. Took the car to them and the service was great really friendly people , well explained and got a good warranty with it , yes it’s expensive but the car feels amazing now gearbox feels like new. I recommend visiting if you having gearbox issues.

A massive thanks to slater garage for all the help given in getting my Vw caddy back on the road so quickly, after dropping off on Saturday as arranged ready for you to take a look Monday, I found out you started on it Sunday so you gave me the fault reason early Monday morning, as suspected it was a Replaced a faulty mechatronic unit, you informed me it would be ready Tuesday for Collection, you also fitted in doing an mot as I had forgotten. I picked it up Wednesday. Now drives better than ever. Very professional, genuine and honest, very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend

Great honest experienced blokes. Replaced a faulty mechatronic unit on my Audi A7 2000 miles ago. Quick turn around, reconditioned unit already in stock. Reasonably priced. Collected out of hours on a weekend as 50 mile round trip. Would certainly recommend as a gearbox specialist.

Octavia VRS DSG 2009:As of today, 17th July 2023, I just had to share my experience with Slaters Garage Ltd. and their mechanic, Paul, who worked on my car's gearbox back in 2018. I must say, the repair has truly stood the test of time, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with the outcome.Initially, we did encounter a few bumps in the road where I had to keep bringing the car back to try out different solutions. However, in the end, we arrived at a solution that left me feeling content, and the price was quite competitive too.Throughout the process, Paul was professional, yet approachable, taking the time to explain everything in detail and keeping me updated at every stage. I could tell he really knew his stuff when it came to gearbox repairs.I have to admit, it's been quite a while since I got my car back, and it's still running smoothly, which speaks volumes about the quality of the work done. I had an Audi s5 with a gearbox problem. Paul was very helpful in diagnosing and repairing my car. He was very prompt and efficient and I couldn’t recommend him anymore. My vehicle was fitted with a new mechatronic which came with a 12 month warranty so I couldn’t be any happier.

A great find. Paul has been very helpful since we moved to this area both servicing and undertaking a full gearbox rebuild on my classic Daimler. The work has been done properly, unlike the last intervention by a previous expert and it has transformed the driving experience. I have already recommended him to several of my club members as finding experts on older cars is not easy.

Visited the garage for advice on my automatic gearbox. Found the staff to be pleasant and very honest. I could have paid for the repair but the parts required were more than the car was worth. They helped me get back and really looked after me. I would definely recommend them

Needed some quick advice on my daughter's very old car so called in and received a very warm and friendly welcome. My stupidity in not checking the basics was dealt with in a very light-hearted and professional way. They quickly sorted the problem, refused to take any money (probably felt sorry for me!) and sent us on our way. You don't get service or attitude as good as that very often these days. Great garage which I will definitely be using again. Highly recommended!!

I cannot recommend Slaters too highly.My local Citroen dealer in Normandy had told me that my C4GP needed a new gearbox, at a cost of around € 6,000.Slaters provided friendly and helpful advice over the phone, and based on their obvious specialist experience and confidence, I brought the car to the UK. They gave me a loan vehicle whilst they rebuilt the Citroen gearbox, and guaranteed a ‘not to be exceeded’ price for the work, which amounted to only half what the French dealer had quoted.I now have an ‘as new’ gearbox which is working perfectly (and silently!), and with a long warranty.Tellingly, Slaters not only completed the repairs ahead of schedule, but also charged me less than their estimate. Business ethics like that are all too rare in the UK these days.Gearbox issues? Don’t hesitate – go straight to Slaters!

After a tip off from someone on the school run, I've had cars serviced here three times. Great staff: helpful, polite and welcoming. Better prices than the big garages in town and if you live nearby, they'll drop your car off, when it's all done. What's not to like! :-)
